DALLAS  Jack Russell Terrier Mix • Medium • Adult • Female

This little dog was abandoned at an apartment complex.  She is not in foster care, but needs to be adopted very soon.  She is about 4 years old.  Dallas is a playful and energetic little dog that gets along with other dogs.  She is mostly housebroken with only the occasional accident.  She definitely needs a spacious yard where she can run and get exercise.  We are training her to be a little more obedient (specifically begging for food from the table) and going for a walk without resisting a leash.  She is mostly a quiet dog but will bark at anyone knocking on our door and our neighbor's dogs.  She likes fetching a ball and playing tugging games.  She will climb onto your lap for petting or dozing, if allowed.  Dallas may be very happy as a family's only pet, but I think she would be happier if there were another dog to play with as she is often playing with ours.

Primary color: White or Cream • Coat length: Medium

PRECIOUS  Viszla Mix • Adult • Female • Large

Precious, 3 years old, is magnificent to look at, she is also the most loving creature you will ever meet. But bringing her into your life will also bring some challenges. We originally came to know Precious as the dumpster dog: found abandoned, fending for herself, jumping in and out of a dumpster searching for food. It turned out Precious was micro-chipped, and from that we discovered that she was originally adopted via Animal Care and Protective Services--presumably she had been surrendered there or found as a stray--but, when contacted, those adopters said they did not want her anymore.  It took a few weeks and a lot of cookies for her to trust the Shelter staff and now takes treats from their hand, sits on command, and follows them around.  She will need lots of exercise. A large fenced yard is a necessity, and frequent walks or runs are a must!

Special Considerations:  No small children; No cats

ARYANA  Shepherd Mix • Adult • Female • Medium

Aryana desperately needs someone to love her. Loves attention and will make a loyal family member.  She's not a huge fan of other female dogs, she's been doing so much better socially with them. She's learning to lay down and stay now, and also not to bark at strangers on her walks (she's got a loud bark)  She will be protective of her family, but never in an aggressive way. And she loves playing fetch, fetch, and more fetch.  She would rather fetch a ball than take a treat!  She doesn't enjoy puppies too much, only because they are rowdy and jump on her, but once they are calm, they get along great.

JERRY  BREED: Hound / Labrador Retriever; GENDER: Male; AGE: Senior; SIZE: Large

Jerry and his sibling were found in a box in front of the shelter.  They are typical hounds, still acting like puppies, that love to play and get along with other dogs.  Their tolerance for cats is unkown.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:  Obedience class would help.

POSH    American Bulldog • Adult • Female • Medium

Posh was found as a stray.  Her foster has two little Doxies and she does great with them.  She plays tug a war and loves the interaction. She does not bother the foster's cat. She was thin and looked as if she may have had a litter of puppies.  She does go into a crate while the foster is at work.  The foster can not keep her long as her apartment allows only two dogs and they are graciously giving her time to re-home Posh.

TEDDY  Poodle • Senior • Male • Small

Teddy is an absolute treat!! He has been in the same home since he was born. Parents separated, children left home and Teddy was left alone a lot.  Mom felt he would be better adopted with a family who could give him attention. Teddy is not like any 11 year old I have ever known.  He is like a puppy.  He runs and plays ball and plays with his toys.  He stands on his hind legs and twirls.  He just had his teeth cleaned and is ready to find his forever home! He is housebroken!   Good with most dogs, and good with kids.

JESSE     Australian Shepherd Mix • Adult • Male • Medium

Jesse is a super sweet young dog. He's a bit shy when someone first tries to pet him but warms up very quickly. He loves to lay with someone to be brushed for hours.  From what I've seen he is good with other dogs.  Mild mannered.  Hardly ever barks. Jessie was found as a stray running the roads with his friend Joanna.

House trained • Spayed/Neutered • Current on vaccinations • Primary Color(s): Tricolor (Brown, Black & White) • Coat Length: Medium

BUDDY • Chihuahua & Jack Russell Terrier Mix • Adult • Male • Small

He's very curious, full of energy, likes to tear apart stuffed animals and is a big fan of cheese.  Likes running around with kids and crunching on dry leaves, but not fond of men, at first.  Due to a recent injury caused by a vet he can be aggressive towards vet staff (nothing a muzzle can't fix). He's still gentle with others and children. He is crate trained and partially house broken as he is still very much a puppy.

Current on vaccinations • Primary Color(s): White or Cream • Secondary Color(s): Brown or Chocolate • Coat Length: Short
